Ventures, in the original sense — a set of pursuits.

Work worth doing, chosen deliberately.

Work already underway.

Some platforms are built to announce something new. Thryve was built for something different — as the home for work already underway, and for what becomes possible because of everything that came before it.

One of us spent nearly three decades inside health systems — as an operator, a builder, and a CEO. The work was consequential: guiding large organizations through turnarounds and transformation, scaling companies for growth, and most recently leading a large health system through its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange. The other’s work ran parallel and complementary — building civic and philanthropic institutions, leading governance, and shaping the organizations that define Middle Tennessee’s healthcare community. A consistent presence in the coalitions that matter enormously to the people they serve.

Thryve is where those two bodies of work converge.

We are not transitioning. We are continuing — with more intention, more selectivity, and a clearer sense of what the work is for. The healthcare industry is at an inflection point serious enough that the people who understand it from the inside have an obligation to stay engaged in how it evolves. Board governance, advisory relationships, selective investment, civic stewardship — these aren’t separate activities packaged together for convenience. They are the natural expression of careers built at the intersection of operations, strategy, and community.

Thryve is the platform we share. The work reflects both.

Board service & advisory

A small number of board and advisory relationships continue that work directly. These engagements are deliberate — chosen for alignment of mission, people, and the chance to be genuinely impactful.

Governance

Board service spanning public and private healthcare companies and major philanthropic institutions — with depth in operations, capital markets, governance, and the particular work of leading mission-driven organizations.

Investor Advisory

Operating-partner and senior advisory work with investors and operating teams — diligence, value creation, and leadership assessment grounded in operating experience.

Leadership

Counsel for executives, founders, and civic leaders navigating scale, transition, and the particular challenges of building in healthcare and community.

“The second half of a career is not a winding down. It is a different kind of strength — judgment in place of urgency, and the obligation to hand both forward.”

The four pillars that follow don’t rank. Healthcare and technology, stewardship, community, and relationships reinforce each other. Each shapes how we show up in the others.

01  ·  Focus

Healthcare Services
& Technology

Sector fluency built over decades of operating inside hospitals, health systems, and healthcare enterprises — and a continued conviction that technology is what reshapes how care gets delivered next. We see this industry from the inside and with perspective on what’s possible.

02  ·  Stewardship

Growth & Vitality

We steward the family’s investments with the optimism of founders and discipline of operators — long horizons, permanent capital, and no fund cycle. Our interests concentrate where our experience runs deepest, alongside real assets and select partnerships with people we trust. We answer to no outside investors.

03  ·  Community

Philanthropy &
Civic Life

Thryve is the banner under which the family’s giving and civic work proceeds. We are committed to the institutions that make Middle Tennessee strong — healthcare, education, faith, and community. Strong roots make durable growth possible.

04  ·  Relationships

People &
Organizations

We partner with exceptional leaders building durable businesses, and support the civic and philanthropic organizations shaping Middle Tennessee. Capital is a tool; the people who wield it define what gets built.
